The Climate Village Program (ProKlim) was launched as a national movement to control community-based climate change by the Minister of Environment and Forestry on 1 December 2016. ProKlim, which has been implemented since 2012, has transformed from giving appreciation to the lowest administrative areas at RW/RW level. hamlets and at the highest level at sub-district/village level, to encourage and facilitate the growth of Climate Villages through enriching innovations in climate change adaptation and mitigation programs implemented in collaboration between the government and Stakeholders.
Proklim is carried out in order to encourage communities to increase their capacity to adapt to the impacts of climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as to provide appreciation for climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts that have been implemented at the local level in accordance with regional conditions.
Through ProKlim, it is hoped that efforts to increase resilience to the negative impacts of climate change as well as reduce greenhouse gas or GHG emissions can be carried out starting from the site level.
The government's efforts to meet the Enhanced Nationally Determined Contribution (Enhanced NDC) target, the Forestry and Land Use (FOLU) sector has set an ambitious 2030 NetSink FOLU target with REDD+ as an important program in supporting the achievement of the NetSink FOLU target. To fulfill and implement this commitment, it is necessary to play a good role in managing environmental funds through integrated funding, in this case. In fulfilling and implementing this commitment and optimizing funding, the Indonesian Government has appointed the Environmental Fund Management Agency (BPDLH) as fund manager.< br /> In order to accelerate the implementation of environmental fund management so that the use of funds can be distributed in a targeted manner both at the central and regional levels, the Chair of SNPMU BioCF-ISFL attended the "National REDD+ Meeting: Optimizing the Utilization of REDD+ RBP Funds"
Tree planting activities are a concrete and strategic effort to overcome the triple planetary crisis, namely climate change, pollution and the threat of loss of biodiversity. All three are interrelated and very urgent to be addressed.
Trees have multipurpose benefits for humans and all living creatures. Not only does it provide oxygen, but it is also a carbon storage place that no other living creature on earth has. The existence of trees is for the survival of humans and the universe, playing an important role in reducing Greenhouse Gas emissions, the source of life for living creatures, storing water, maintaining air temperature, reducing noise, and reducing the strength of the wind.
The presence of trees and good land cover will increase nature's carrying capacity in mitigating climate change, food security, energy and the welfare of all living creatures. Therefore, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry is committed to reducing emissions from the forestry sector and other land uses through Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030.
The number of seeds that will be planted in this simultaneous planting activity is 317 stems, with plant types including:
In order to implement the MAR BioCF System in 2024 regarding reporting on emission reduction (ER) calculations, it is necessary to carry out ER calculation exercises and discussions regarding the accuracy value of land cover change data in Jambi Province. Another effort to improve the quality of GHG emissions reporting in Jambi Province has also been carried out through uncertainty analysis of land cover change data
in August-December 2023. These results are used to adjust the area of each class of land cover change (area adjustment) which will improve the estimated reference levels for emissions and absorption in Jambi Province.
Therefore, the MAR Sector is carrying out activities again to start 2024 with a Focus Group Discussion, Analysis of Emission Reduction Calculations and Accuracy Values of Land Cover Change Data for Jambi Province.
The purpose of this peer review discussion activity is to obtain information and
obtain comprehensive input from parties and stakeholders regarding
results of a study on strengthening the governance of climate change funds in Jambi Province and strengthening
Policy recommendations to make the distribution of climate change funds in Jambi Province more transparent
and accountable and on target
