Tree planting activities are a concrete and strategic effort to overcome the triple planetary crisis, namely climate change, pollution and the threat of loss of biodiversity. All three are interrelated and very urgent to be addressed.
Trees have multipurpose benefits for humans and all living creatures. Not only does it provide oxygen, but it is also a carbon storage place that no other living creature on earth has. The existence of trees is for the survival of humans and the universe, playing an important role in reducing Greenhouse Gas emissions, the source of life for living creatures, storing water, maintaining air temperature, reducing noise, and reducing the strength of the wind.
The presence of trees and good land cover will increase nature's carrying capacity in mitigating climate change, food security, energy and the welfare of all living creatures. Therefore, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry is committed to reducing emissions from the forestry sector and other land uses through Indonesia's FOLU Net Sink 2030.
